Mylan`s Generic Lopinavir and Ritonavir Receives Approval in the U.S.
The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) has approved a sweet-tasting, heat-stable, ‘4-in-1’ fixed-dose combination of four antiretroviral (ARV) treatments composed of abacavir, lamivudine, lopinavir, and ritonavir that is specifically designed for infants and young children with HIV. This combination treatment has been developed by Cipla and the not-for-profit Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi).

World Health Organization expert groups recommended mortality trials of four repurposed antiviral drugs — remdesivir, hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir, and interferon beta-1a — in patients hospitalized with coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
WHO has said that remdesivir, hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir/ritonavir and interferon had little or no effect when treating hospitalised patients with COVID-19.
Gilead Sciences released a statement to refute the World Health Organization’s claim that a recent trial on remdesivir showed “little or no effect” against Covid-19.
